Ethnic Chicken

Nothing Ethnic, Maybe some Chicken, Mostly Nessa

Instant Pot Love

It has been too long but I just got a new toy and I think blogging will be mandatory. I’m not very good at it but what the heck… let’s go. My son got me an Instant Pot for my birthday and I jumped right in. I made STEAM first. Then I made a pancake cake… out of pancake batter… that came out pretty good… Next step was Ribs. They came out TOO tender for our taste. I cooked RAW ribs for 9 minutes under pressure. the let the NPR. Now NPR is a radio station to me. But in the world of Instant Pot, it means Natural Pressure Release or in this case.. MAKE NESSA WAIT. After they were released from the Instant Pot Prison, I sauced them and 5 minutes each side in a 450 Breville Convection Toaster Oven We will continue to attempt ribs… the outsides were good..inside not flavorful enough.

After Ribs I made soup. What we call in my family MOMMY Soup… Split Pea and Barley Soup. EASY. and Yummy…

Last night I attempted Brats with onions potatoes and peppers. FAIL. Potatoes over cooked. Brats under cooked. Hubby is being a GEM and letting me play and experiment. It’s costing us less to throw out my mistakes and try again than it was for all the carry out we were eating.

Today.. CHEESECAKE…. I am following this recipe. Next post will be to document that. Fingers crossed.
